Mike Cartmel
Mike Cartmel has been a freelance website designer since 2004 when he and his wife Eva moved to Empuriabrava, Spain.
Prior to the move Mike was a lecturer in Management & Information Technology at the University of Wales, Lampeter where his professional experience has included:
- Undergraduate and Postgraduate lecturer in Website design, Spreadsheets and Databases, Computer Modelling, Database Management Systems, Statistics, Marketing and Tourism.
- Author of an online course entitled "Managing Business on the Internet"
- The provision of IT instruction to management and staff of small and medium sized businesses as part of Objective One EU funded projects.
- Responsibility for the coordination of the University’s IT Short Course programme that taught over 1000 students in the three years he was coordinator.
- IT Short Course tutor using Dreamweaver MX, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer and Paint Shop Pro 7.
- IT Consultancy work and private tuition.
Eva Cartmel
Eva Cartmel has a background in research and sales and is responsible for the Internet Research arm of cartmel solutions.
Eva has worked in Denmark, France, the UK, the US and Spain and after spending several years as a postgraduate student (including teaching good research practice at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth) she is now applying her skills to more practical matters and focuses on web research and the compiling and arranging of information.
Eva also works extensively with marketing, presentations and sales.
Her most recent research projects include:
- Preparing local, national, international and web advertising for a Spanish estate agency
- Creating and managing marketing materials and customer presentations for property investment group
Eva holds two awards for French literature, a distinction in oral French and an award for international understanding. She speaks English, Danish and French and can also get by in German, Spanish, Swedish and Norwegian.
Cartmel Solutions
Cartmel Solutions is the amalgamation of all the separate business interests of husband and wife team Mike and Eva Cartmel; combining Mike's website design and computer training/maintenance businesses with Eva's research expertise.
